Roger Waters... "The Wall" 30th Anniversary

I grew up listening to Pink Floyd and all of those classic bands from the 70's so when the opportunity came to see Roger Waters perform "the Wall" in Cleveland in September my parents and I jumped on it! So in June we booked our tickets. We saw "Dark Side of the Moon" in 2006 and believe this will be Roger's last tour.  Tuesday afternon we took off for Cleveland after getting a random hotel through HotWire... It was the Crown Plaza downtown, sweeeet! Unforunately it was pouring rain so we couldn't go city-touring.  We drank a beer, took our token shot of Patron with lemon and salt and headed to 4th Street.  We had picked the brain of a Cleveland-native to get the best restaurant and were directed to "the Greenhouse Tavern".  It is the first LEED certified restaurant in the state of Ohio, very cool. Our friend, of course, is a Landscape Architect, thus the recommendation. The atmosphere was fantastic and the food was even better. We enjoyed a couple of lagers before heading down to Flannerys where we had another beer.. And then we were off. The concert was at the Quicken Loans Arena where the Cavs play so it was humungous (sp?)! We had great seats and the concert was phenomenal! They actually built a wall across the stage and knocked it down at the end. The graphics were incredible and I actually think I physically cried 4 times.  Roger Waters is very sensitive to issues so there were lots of posts about the war in Iraq and Afganistan, the loss of the soldiers and civilians.. Lots of children, and as a mother, it ripped at my heart strings.. Anyway, the concert blew us away and I would love to re-live the entire experience over and over.. Unforunately I don't have pictures because they didn't allow cameras (or so I thought) and my phone only functions as a phone. That was my preference two years ago... Now I am kinda wanting those Droid things.. Ya  I know, not typically my style. I'm pretty simple.

I was thrilled to go to the concert and stay in a hotel but it was absolutely wonderful to see my sweet little girls after being gone for so long!!
